Many people are unaware that panic attack medication only provides temporary relief and may leave them dependent on it. This is not what you want to achieve. You want to treat panic attacks by yourself and not with the aid of panic attack medication.
1) Distraction Technique
The first alternative to panic attack medication is by using the distraction technique. When you find yourself tittering on the edge of a panic attack, distract yourself. Focus your attention somewhere else. Perhaps a chair. Then look at the chair. Concentrate on the intricate details. This will help you take your mind off your panic attack.
2) Think Positively
Another alternative to panic attack medication is to think positive thoughts. Train your mind to always look on the brighter side of life. This way you will not become so tensed. When your body becomes tense, chances of having a panic attack is high.
3) Psychotherapy Sessions
You can also undergo psychotherapy sessions as another alternative to panic attack medication. You will have to participate actively to reap the most benefits from this treatment. You will have to follow the strict regime and practices. Even though psychotherapy will require more time and patience, it is a better alternative to panic attack medication.
Panic attack medication provides fast relief when you are having a panic attack. However, this is only temporary. Keep in mind that if the same situation presents itself again, you will most probably suffer from another panic attack. This is because you did not deal with the panic attack on your own in the first place.
Therefore, practice these three alternatives. They are way better and more effective than panic attack medication.
